What a night,
The Yankees and Red Sox continued their infamous rivalry Thursday night with the Yankees taking an early but short lived 3-0 lead with a homer by shortstop Didi Gregorius. Insert Steve Pearce who absolutely crushed the Yankees last night with not one, not two, but THREE homeruns becoming the third player in Red Sox history with a 3 HR game against the Yankees. Boston ended up taking game one of the four game series 15-7,with the Yankees bullpen giving up a total of 13 earned runs. Severino and Porcello battle it out in tonight’s match up.
The Dodgers had themselves a night. Looking to split the series with the ever so hot Brewers club, They were down 1-0 early till the Dodgers completely unloaded, Homeruns by Joc Pederson and a Grand Slam by Cody Bellinger gave them a 6-1 lead in the third but they weren’t done just yet. Brian Dozier went yard for his second night in a row and Justin Turner added to the fun with a homer in the 6th on his first day back from the DL. All in all the team had a combined 7 home runs to give them a final score of 21-5, Tonight we have a World Series rematch with Verlander and Wood on the mound.
Lastly Chris Archer makes his pitching/ home debut tonight with his new team facing off against a hot Cardinals ball club. Who defeated the Rockies yesterday in dramatic fashion, Jose Martinez hit his first walk off hit in the bottom of the 9th to win the game with a score of 4-2.
Glad you’re back on the baseball beat!
