Hello Everybody and Happy Thursday! Woke up this morning and and the first thing I saw was the Reds had fired their GM Bryan Price after only 18 games. Price had been with the team for five seasons and the Red’s 2018 season didn’t exactly get off to the best start with a record of 3-15. His firing comes just after the Red’s dropped back to back games against the Brewers. The Red’s are currently in last place in the NL Central and trail the Pirates by 9 games, Do you think they can turn their season around? Two teams that aren’t having the same problem are the Red Sox and Mets. Yes you read that right…..THE METS. The Mets went 70-92 last season and finished 4th in the NL East. Coming into the 2018 season I did not know what to expect. The Mets are currently in first place in the National League East and lead the division by three games. The Mets won a dramatic one last night against the Nationals. Going into the 8th inning they were down 4-2. Frazier and Lagaures both came up with clutch hits to give the Mets a 6-4 lead but they weren’t done just yet. Cespesdes then hit a Grand Slam on an 0-2 count to extend their lead to 11-5!! What seems different about the Mets you ask? I sense a relentless fight with them, they have been criticized for having a lot of “older” players and I feel like they really have something to prove. Tonight they go up against the Braves so we shall see if this hot streak continues. Last but not least, how much hotter can the Red Sox get ?! Sitting pretty with a 15-2 record. They have scored 19 runs in two games and currently sit 3 games up in the AL East. I was really excited for this Red Sox match up this week, because the Angels have been rather hot this April as well. Mookie accounted for three runs on his own Tuesday night one being off the coveted Ohtani. Last night the Red Sox had Porcello on the bump and provided him with PLENTY of run support. Rafael Devers delivered and crushed a grand slam to extend their lead to 6-0, their 4th Grand Slam this month!! J.D. Martinez also had a home run, and the Red Sox beat the Angels 9-0. Tonight the Red Sox look to sweep the Angels with Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump.
Wake up and Baseball
